Updates

We brought our new baby, er, heh hum, our new Computer home yesterday afternoon and I am just plain smitten! We stayed with an HP Pavilion and got a great deal on it at Best Buy. It's a lot to get used to and will take me a long time to go through all of my files from the old computer & get them in order, but so far I'm very happy with this purchase. It may also take me a bit to get posting with photo's (more so on New Jersey Through My Eyes than here) but I'm glad to be back up & running on a pc that works this well and is this fast! (Seriously though, I think it has the ability to take over the world as we know it!)

In other news, I had my follow up with my Rheumologist this morning. No MRI's or X-rays of my lower back as of yet, but he's put me on some additional meds and if they haven't controlled or stopped this flare-up by the time I see him again a month from today, we'll go that route. (This way the insurance won't dispute paying for any MRI's or X-rays once I have them. Unfortunate the hoops we have to jump through when it comes to health insurance). He feels this is a lumbar/pinched nerve (from herniated disk) thing so it may or may not be directly related to my arthritis or spinal arthritis. We'll see!

Apparently my liver enzymes were elevated, not enough for concern, but enough for him to take notice of & mention to me. We're not sure what this means but we'll see what my next bloodwork results indicate & go from there. My kidney function is good, which is a relief to me as I've had kidney problems in the past and will likely again at some point. He feels I'm a little dehydrated and have a low-grade sinus infection & fever, so overall I just need to take it easy & keep those fluids coming. (No antibiotics as of now since they do me more harm than good in most cases).

So there y'all have it! I want to thank everyone again for their kind & supportive words throughout this flare-up ordeal! You really have no idea how much it helps me through times like these.

Welcome! I'm so happy to have had so many visitors already! I must apologize for not being ready for you earlier! I also apologize for the wacky font sizes throughout my post. Happy Halloween Fete 2009! Love and Spookiness to All! ~Jo (Continue scrolling down until the end of the post) Outside, it's a gloomy & cold day here on the NJ coast. Many a restless Spirit wander here on days like this. One can never be too sure if the fog & mist are just as they seem. Inside, it is warm yet equally frightful! Creepy crawlies have gotten into the food & drink, I so hope you don't mind! What with all of the party hopping we're doing, I didn't want you to bust a gut, so I've laid out some Pumpkin Cook

(Though it didn't post at 12:01am like it was supposed to). Anyhoo, I'm home and resting (uncomfortably). Surgery went well, my kidney tube and stone are gone! I have an internal stent on the left hand side but I'm okay with that because it comes out in the doctor's office in 2-3 weeks (no back to the hospital) and especially because it meant they could take that nephrostomy tube out! (The last nearly 2 weeks of that 15 weeks was rough with that thing, my body was simultaneously trying to heal aroun
