Up first for my #SheReads #summerreads is The Book Of Summer by @mgablewriter: Living on the coast of NJ where we experience (too) many storms year after year, especially more recently the Nor'Easter of '08 and Hurricanes Irene & Sandy, which were way too close for comfort (saying the very least) the struggle to maintain generations old ways of life, and now watching them vanish is a very real & relate-able subject for me. Always love a Nantucket setting for a Summer read! (I actually enjoy it when the finicky coastal weather is captured just so, because it's like that here where I live!) Have I told y'all lately how much I 💚 hostas? Deadheading the roses on this cool & cloudy Friday morning. 🙌🏻 Usually it's a more peaceful time, but the family of squirrels living up in the maple tree was causing a ruckus most of the time I was out there with their shenanigans 🙄 So I found myself more annoyed than usual, but for me, deadheading & weeding are always a time for me to get things out of my system (like journaling, or prayer, or rearranging my bookshelves), as is much of my time in the garden, so it's never time wasted.
