You Are My Sunshine...

My only sunshine, you make me happy when skies are grey, youll never know dear how much I love you, please dont take my sunshine away.

Goodbye Mr Man.

It really was time for Mr to be put down by the time we got to the vet this morning. He stopped purring and pretty much eating and drinking yesterday afternoon. His eyes have been mostly fully dilated for 2 days. He could hardly get around. My Mom, Hubby and best friend Kathy and I were there with him. (Well, Mom had to leave the room before it happened). It was the right thing to do for him, but one of the saddest things I have ever had to go through. We brought him home and burried him in the bk yard where he loved to explore and spend time.

Fair Night

Good thing to since I was not in the mood to cook dinner with everything going on with Mr.. Fairs are boring but they are good for eatin!

This Is My Mr.

Pic 3, next to me on the couch today. This coming Saturday morning, we have an appointment to put Mr down. I think I may die right along with him. I never experienced the death of a pet until last year when I was 32 and Buddy died unexpectedly. This will be the 1st time I have ever had to decide to put a pet down and I am 33. This is horrible. I know in the long run it is best for Mr, at least that is what Hubby, Mom, Aunt Judy and my friend Kathy say. I just feel sad.

Beautiful End 2 Another Beautiful Evening @ The Beach!

Another Beautiful Wednesday Evening At The Beach!

Been Working On My Book Today!

For at least 2 hours if not longer!

Uh...

Does this string make my butt look big?

What's Old Is New!

One of our elderly tenants POAs was having an apartment sale as she has moved to a nursing home. I purchased her dining table and chair set, which is pictured here. This table is larger than our old 1 (now out on the patio) but actually fits in this space better and brightens the kitchen up! (The old table is dark 1970s brown as are the chairs.)

Yesterday...

Was Hubbys bday! I took this pic on our way back to our truck after dinner - we were sitting way out on that pier where the umbrellas are! We had dinner with a couple of friends - the temp on the pier was PERFECT! A light beautiful breeze which made it pleasant, less humid and kept the bugs away! Today, instead of rain and storms all day, we had 1 brief shower and uncomfortable humidity! The air has also been thick, smoggy and scented heavily with fire - must be brushfires up the highway again.

Boomers Cut Short 1st Wed. Night Beach Concert Of 2008!

I have never seen a storm that looked the way this one did tonight when we were out on Sandy Hook! It was mezmorizing! (Did I spell that right?!) Such a shame the evening was cut short so quickly! This is Hubbys FAV thing to do in the summer! This is the 5th summer I am going with him to the Wednesday night beach concerts! This is his 8th or 9th! It is a nice relaxing evening with music and a cooler full of beverages and a cold dinner! Sometimes we bring whatever books we are reading, sometimes we go for a dip and take a walk, sometimes I do a little writing, sometimes friends join us. Most times we just sit, relax and have a little dinner!

Boomers! Part 2

Taken on way off the beach to the parking lot.

Boomers! Part 3

Taken on our way off Sandy Hook.

Boomers! Part 4

Taken on the bridge on our way off Sandy Hook.

This And That!

Took this pic yesterday - my roses are doing so well and that makes me happy! Watching a wonderful documentary about Walt Whitman on the PBS series American Experience! For once I am glad Hubby was flipping channels! Though originally from Long Island, he passed away in Camden NJ. I wonder if his home has been preserved as other passed on authors homes have been around the country and Europe? If so, I would like to visit it. I have never been one for poetry (though I have tried) but I think I may take out his Leaves of Grass from the library soon.
Comfort: A Journey Through Grief by Ann Hood My review rating: 2 of 5 stars I read this as a result of & after reading Ann Hood's fiction novel "The Knitting Circle" recently, which I gave 5 stars to. I also lost my daughter, (9 years ago this May) though under completely different circumstances than Ann did and before my daughter, Brianna, was born. Ann's daughter Grace was 5 years old. On 6/4/08, I wrote the following in the book (I do that unless it's from a library or borrowed from my Aunt!) at the end of Chapter 7 on page 110: "Frustrated a bit! Too repetitive! Too many of the exact same details repeated over and over! Even though there are seperate chapters w/titles, there isn't a smooth transition from one to the next! I feel guilty for writing/feeling this!" And I did feel guilty given the subject matter and because I loved "The Knitting Circle" so! I felt a deep connection to TKC (perhaps because it included oth

Another Hottie Today!

Bout 100 degrees today! So hot that even with the ac on, it got to 75 degrees in our livingroom! The kitchen was even hotter! Tomorrow is supposed to be worse! Even if I did not have pleuracy, I would not go out in this heat! The ac in my truck is broken! More lovely roses opened today! About 6! 9 more buds appeared too! I am very pleased with this garden purchase!

We're Havin' A Heat Wave...!

You betchya we are! High 90s yesterday, the same today and through Wednesday! It is 10:44pm and 83 degrees with 70 percent humidity!!! Not a bad time to be under Doctors orders to rest and take it easy! My strep infection started to go into the lining of my lungs, something called pleuracy. It is very painful and can make breathing difficult too, not to mention already being run down from the strep infection and having my Monthly Visitor! Oh, this pic was taken this afternoon when I ventured outside to see how all of my flowers and veggies are doing in this heat! It is 1 bloom on my Rosa Radcon Pink Knockout Rose.

I Love This Place

You canot see it from this pic, but on the horizon are Brooklyn and Coney Island. Behind them is the Empire State Building and Manhattan. Closer still is a Weapons Station with military ships docked and to the left is Sandy Hook Lighthouse and Fort Hancock. Last night on our walk we saw the 1st Lightning Bug of the year and tonight, here at the marina, I can hear the 1st crickets of the year! One of the NY Harbor channel marker fog horns is sounding off - storms are coming later this evening and tomorrow. This area we live in has become my home! Kinda snuck up on me!

Relaxing Evening!

Down at the marina tonight. Hubby is fishing Blues. I am sitting on a bench, watching him and a ladybug that just landed on my leg! Warm yet so comfy because of a glorious breeze. There are HUNDREDS of ladybugs in the tall grasses in the dunes in front of me! I have never seen anything like this before!

Those Ladybugs I Mentioned In Prev Post!

Too windy to get a pic where you can see a whole bunch.

A Bit Of Heaven! I Think I'm In Love!

We are out in south west NJ, here at a place called Assunpink which is for fishing, hunting, shooting practice and the like. I have never been here before and it is incredible! What a peaceful, relaxing Sunday afternoon! I have my camera, some books and some knitting, but I am content to just sit here, watching Hubby, the dragon flies and the water!
