Another Monkey Wrench

Hubby got laid off today.

He's happy. I'm bawling & on the verge of getting sick.

If he's crying wolf again (yeah, sometimes he thinks he's funny), I'm going to puke on him and maybe that will straiten out his sense of humor.

Wow, I am really sorry to hear that. Jack got laid off last summer, and we went through a few tough months. But, he's back on his feet know as I'm sure your hubby will be soon.

bad hubby...not funny even if you do have a cute tushie! LOL!

My husband is in sales so I have been in your shoes on more than one occasion. There's no polite way to say it, it sucks. Just know that you've got a lot of people to vent to who care.
Thank you ladies! Much appreciated! (Brenda, you made me laugh again reading that!)

I'm sorry to hear this, Jo. I know how you feel. My hubby has been laid off for a long time and it's a huge struggle. I feel for you! Hang in there.

And if he's playing a joke...kick his ass!
Thanks Brandie and I'm sorry you're going through this too! And he wasn't joking this time - you made me LOL with that!

We'll be ok. It's just scary. The ridiculous thing is that our cobra will be $140 less each month than what he was putting out for gas, so we'll actually be slightly ahead with his unemployment!

I'm sorry Jo. It is scary. That's crazy about the cobra payments - proof that every cloud has a silver lining!

P.S. - A belated thank you for the postcards - I'm slow on the return side but I'm getting there!
Thanks Lizzi! And yes, that's one of the silver linings in the clouds of his getting laid off. There are others. Thank God for that! And no worries on the post cards! Take your time. I fit them in when I can.

Jo,
How are you doing? I was thinking about you.
My best friend recently got laid off. It is scary. My husband got laid off about 12 years ago, and it was a relief to me, but it was down in the dumps when it happened. He worked for an oil company at the time, and that constantly threatened to laid them off. It was worrisome with that cloud always hanging over your head. Eventually, he got a job with the University of Pennsylvania.....free tuition for the kids after you work there 10 years, so there is a silver lining.

Hang in there, and if he gets too lazy sitting around the house, well you are familiar with the cute tush...just give him a little kick in it!

xoxo
Thank you Brenda! I'm doing better, trying not to stress & let Vic do it if it's needed, lol! Fortunately or unfortunately, he's not the lazy type and I'm wondering how quickly boredom will set in... But, I can think of plenty to keep that cute tush occupied for some time ;)

Jo, I'm so sorry to hear about this! I know it's a scary time, but hopefully there will be a great opportunity or two that will come his way. You're in my thoughts and prayers!!!

2nd Annual Practical Magic Blog Party 2011 is Here! *Updated*

It's time for the 2nd Annual Practical Magic Blog Party created & hosted by the wonderful Anna of Frosted Petunias ! My sincerest apologies for getting this up rather late! The adventure that is post Hurricane Irene cleanup & repairs has been taking up too much time recently. (sigh) Things are a mess; I only started decorating for Autumn yesterday and I'm missing Halloween decorations! Luckily my broom is always safe and sound by the front door so at least I don't have to wonder where it is. (Not that it hasn't been known to scamper off now and again - naughty broom). I was afraid, quite honestly, that I wouldn't even get a post up sometime today! I kept hitting dead ends with every other one I tried. But, this morning I sat here at the computer and it flowed. Thankfully! I would have been so disappointed if I'd missed this, it was such fun last year! As some may remember from last years party, while I like the movie, (and love that house!), I love the...

The Time Is Upon Us Once Again!

Welcome Friends! It's time once again for A Fanciful Twist Halloween Party ! Warmest thanks to the lovely Vanessa for hosting again this year. My apologies for not having this up sooner, I've been dreadfully under the weather and my helpers have been more of a hindrance! My lovely kitchen witch Helvetica has given up time off and has been cooking & baking away since last night but the skeletons have been eating everything in sight (damn their bottomless stomachs!) though they won't fess up and the invisible man has been raving on and on every time the door bell rings! I do hope you'll enjoy your visit to Pumpkin Manor and have a Happy Halloween ! I look forward to your return. (Slideshow below - if it plays too fast, hover your cursor on it until the <- -> appear & click on them to view what you've missed). 11:14pm

11:14pm (3/16/09) Watching a documentary Tennessee is so beautiful Head & nose all stuffy Out of ZyrtekD - sigh Want to read but distracted by my clogged head Hubby's snoring a little, restless a lot I worry about him He's so tired, works so much Doesn't get to do what he enjoys often enough (If at all) He willingly took my burdens & made them his own I'm still not used to being taken care of Makes me uncomfortable, guilty I took care of things for so many years Are 2 persons "stuff" too much for 1 person? Even a good, strong man? I know what it is to do more than my "fair share" Though the situation was completely different Is the end result the same?
