(Not So) Wordless Wednesday

I'm too stinkin' excited to keep my mouth shut for this week's Wordless Wednesday. Since I've no idea how I could picture my actual super-duper-oober excitement, I will show you what has me smiling ear to ear (and possibly jumping up and down, not that I'm admitting to anything):

This, my friends, is Gaillardia 'Oranges & Lemons' Blanketflower, a dearly beloved favorite in my garden since 2007 and missing since the squirrels dug it up & absconded with it in 2008. It's not an easy Blanketflower to get a hold of and I've been on the hunt. Thanks to Mike at Sickles Market, who emailed me yesterday to let me know that these Blanketflower would be arriving today, I know have 3 containers of 'Oranges and Lemons' at home once again. I am so stinkin' Happy, I can't begin to tell y'all!

Of course I had to roam to see what other wonderful things they had in right now and throughout my travels around their beautiful nursery, I happened upon this most gorgeous and unique Bee Balm I've ever seen. It's called Monarda Hybrid 'Pink Lace.' I knew as soon as I saw it where it would go at home!

Lastly, we have Lavandula angustifolia 'Hidcote Blue' Lavender and the soft green foliage alone smells so heavenly I can't wait for it to bloom! I'm going to pot these into the containers just outside of our bedroom window. I may have to swing back and pick up 2 more come to think of it since the containers are on the large side. (As Mom was saying goodbye, she turned to look at me and I was standing on the front porch with my nose buried in the herb and she laughed!)

Of course we bought goodies from their market as well (for me: yellow beef steak tomato's (my favorite!), Sweet Pea Ravioli & spinach artichoke dip mix and for mom: ice cream cake roll & white grapefruit) and Mom also picked up a very pretty Hosta that I didn't think to check the name of. It was a nice time out, not too hot nor too crowded and the rain didn't start until we were leaving. When I thanked Mom (again!) as she was leaving my place, she told me the smile on my face when I brought the 'Oranges & Lemons' over to the cart was thanks enough. (Which only made me smile even more).

Love the Gaillardia, such a work horse in the garden. I will have to look for that one.
Thanks for stopping by! It's a lovely addition to a garden and blooms from now until Fall!

Ooh, serious envy for that Gallardia. I have lavender, and it is blooming! You inspire me to bring in a few sprigs.
I would bring in Lavender and Lemon Balm sprigs last year and the scent was just Heavenly CurtissAnn! Maybe this Gaillardia is available where you are :~)

It sounds like such a lovely outing. I'm quite taken with the "Oranges and Lemon" flower. I have never seen anything like it and it's such a wonderful burst of sunshiney color.

An Enchanted Garden Party

Welcome to my post! To visit other participants, please head over to the Practical Magic Blog Party 2010 blog. I must say that while I think Practical Magic the movie is adorable, I think the novel is incredible. And that is where I gleaned my inspiration from for these festivities. Gardens are mysterious, magical and enchanting, don't you think? Now follow me out into the garden, I have everything all ready for you, including music! (Turn your volume on). *Update: Music has reverted to my regular Fall soundtrack, 9/28/2010* For all of you non Practical Magic Blog Party folks, head on over to NJ Through My Eyes where I've posted 2 new slide-shows today; one is a preview of a new project I'm working on!

A Walk Through The (Dis)Enchanted Forrest (Halloween Party Post)

Welcome & thank you for visiting my post! For more Halloween fun today & throughout the weekend, visit A Fanciful Twist . For more Halloween & Autumn Fun, check out my "Autumn Tuesday" & "Halloween Thursday" posts by clicking on their labels in the left hand column. ~Happy Halloween & Pumpkin Blessings! *Update for those friends wondering, I put this together prior to surgery yesterday to make sure I would be able to post it for today! (Though it didn't post at 12:01am like it was supposed to). Anyhoo, I'm home and resting (uncomfortably). Surgery went well, my kidney tube and stone are gone! I have an internal stent on the left hand side but I'm okay with that because it comes out in the doctor's office in 2-3 weeks (no back to the hospital) and especially because it meant they could take that nephrostomy tube out! (The last nearly 2 weeks of that 15 weeks was rough with that thing, my body was simultaneously trying to heal aroun...

2nd Annual Practical Magic Blog Party 2011 is Here! *Updated*

It's time for the 2nd Annual Practical Magic Blog Party created & hosted by the wonderful Anna of Frosted Petunias ! My sincerest apologies for getting this up rather late! The adventure that is post Hurricane Irene cleanup & repairs has been taking up too much time recently. (sigh) Things are a mess; I only started decorating for Autumn yesterday and I'm missing Halloween decorations! Luckily my broom is always safe and sound by the front door so at least I don't have to wonder where it is. (Not that it hasn't been known to scamper off now and again - naughty broom). I was afraid, quite honestly, that I wouldn't even get a post up sometime today! I kept hitting dead ends with every other one I tried. But, this morning I sat here at the computer and it flowed. Thankfully! I would have been so disappointed if I'd missed this, it was such fun last year! As some may remember from last years party, while I like the movie, (and love that house!), I love the...
