I'm Back!

Hello friends! Hope all is well with all of you. We've been away since last week, up at our 'home away from home' in the mountains. We got another property to cover ours so we could be away and not have to worry about the apartment complex at all (which is a very necessary break every so often). It was nice being away even though it POURED Sat night through Tuesday morning! Then the temperature dropped and we had snow & hail showers around dinner time last night. It got down to 32° too! More oddball weather this morning while we were packing up to come home. (Rain, snow & hail all at the same time while it was sunny in one direction and cloudy in the other).
Yes, that Is the resident Swan hanging out with us by the fire last night! She's taken quite the liking to us and seems to like to spend time near us even if we don't feed her (which we do often enough) though I know she's just hoping we'll feed her anyway. The resident Mallard couple stops by, often with her, as well but only during day light hours. She's a beautiful (and enormous!) creature.
Tomorrow's iv med day in the afternoon. I hope it doesn't wear me out too much as the book club meet up is also tomorrow, at 7pm and I'd like to go. (Have to be careful though - I'm supposed to avoid contact with & exposure to groups in enclosed settings immediately after and for 72 hours). Guess I'll just have to wait & see!
That's all for now! More catching up coming soon.

Wow! That's cool the swan will get so close. My grandparent's had "pet" swans at their house (they lived on a lake.) My grandfather pictured two peaceful swans gliding around the cove. No such luck! They were so mean! They would go after you and try to corner you on the beach.

Crazy weather. We're having our fair share of odd weather. It was in the mid 90s yesterday and today it's in the high 60s, very low 70s and super windy. And rain this weekend. Typical Spring all the way around!

Hope all is well!

I had no idea swans liked to warm their tail feathers! That is cool!
Typical Spring here too Lizzi though I'm still getting used to the weather up north. Things are good and I hope the same with you! (This Swan isn't mean, just a little overly impatient when she thinks you have food for her & you're not feeding it to her fast enough - just ask my right Reebok sneaker, lol!)

After all the wacky weather, the torrential rains followed by just plan cold, she was as tired of it all as we were Lisa!

An Enchanted Garden Party

Welcome to my post! To visit other participants, please head over to the Practical Magic Blog Party 2010 blog. I must say that while I think Practical Magic the movie is adorable, I think the novel is incredible. And that is where I gleaned my inspiration from for these festivities. Gardens are mysterious, magical and enchanting, don't you think? Now follow me out into the garden, I have everything all ready for you, including music! (Turn your volume on). *Update: Music has reverted to my regular Fall soundtrack, 9/28/2010* For all of you non Practical Magic Blog Party folks, head on over to NJ Through My Eyes where I've posted 2 new slide-shows today; one is a preview of a new project I'm working on!

A Walk Through The (Dis)Enchanted Forrest (Halloween Party Post)

Welcome & thank you for visiting my post! For more Halloween fun today & throughout the weekend, visit A Fanciful Twist . For more Halloween & Autumn Fun, check out my "Autumn Tuesday" & "Halloween Thursday" posts by clicking on their labels in the left hand column. ~Happy Halloween & Pumpkin Blessings! *Update for those friends wondering, I put this together prior to surgery yesterday to make sure I would be able to post it for today! (Though it didn't post at 12:01am like it was supposed to). Anyhoo, I'm home and resting (uncomfortably). Surgery went well, my kidney tube and stone are gone! I have an internal stent on the left hand side but I'm okay with that because it comes out in the doctor's office in 2-3 weeks (no back to the hospital) and especially because it meant they could take that nephrostomy tube out! (The last nearly 2 weeks of that 15 weeks was rough with that thing, my body was simultaneously trying to heal aroun...

2nd Annual Practical Magic Blog Party 2011 is Here! *Updated*

It's time for the 2nd Annual Practical Magic Blog Party created & hosted by the wonderful Anna of Frosted Petunias ! My sincerest apologies for getting this up rather late! The adventure that is post Hurricane Irene cleanup & repairs has been taking up too much time recently. (sigh) Things are a mess; I only started decorating for Autumn yesterday and I'm missing Halloween decorations! Luckily my broom is always safe and sound by the front door so at least I don't have to wonder where it is. (Not that it hasn't been known to scamper off now and again - naughty broom). I was afraid, quite honestly, that I wouldn't even get a post up sometime today! I kept hitting dead ends with every other one I tried. But, this morning I sat here at the computer and it flowed. Thankfully! I would have been so disappointed if I'd missed this, it was such fun last year! As some may remember from last years party, while I like the movie, (and love that house!), I love the...
