Christmas-ing

Well, I've been shopping online this afternoon and can cross off 2 friends (G & K) from the gift list. I've purchased 2 things for Vic and now haven't a clue what else to get him. (He's as hard to shop for as my Mother - thanks Freud). I already got Mom and Aunt Judy their gifts a couple of weeks ago (Matha Stewart Living magazine and Country Living magazine). I'll also print out wedding pic copies for a photo album for Aunt Judy and she's done. Since I'm not sure what to get my friend B and she works her ass off to make ends meet, I'm going to pick up a Visa gift card for her.

I'm frustrated with my friend K though. For the past few years, I've asked her to limit her gift purchases for me for Christmas to 1 or 2 and to not spend more than $20 or $25 each. She doesn't listen. And now that we don't see one another even a fraction as much as we used to, I haven't the foggiest idea what to get for her! I saw one thing and bought it today online. What frustrates me is that I know she's gone overboard again and I feel bad so I'm always looking for extra stuff to get her. I know she doesn't expect me to go overboard in return, but it's annoying. I've tried talking to her about this for the past 4 Christmases.

Last night I made out the cards for our tenant's plus 3 more, so that's 40 cards down and I don't even know how many more to go!

I have a friend that does this exact same thing to me Jo so I know what you are going through. Its very irritating to me and I hate complaining about it because it makes me look ungrateful but I can't help it. Why can't they respect your wishes when you actually choose to finally voice them ya know? :)

I feel the same way. I feel bad too because she did A LOT for me, year round, before I was with Vic and was with me through so much bs, but it irritates me when I've spent more on her than on Vic or my Mom!

2nd Annual Practical Magic Blog Party 2011 is Here! *Updated*

It's time for the 2nd Annual Practical Magic Blog Party created & hosted by the wonderful Anna of Frosted Petunias ! My sincerest apologies for getting this up rather late! The adventure that is post Hurricane Irene cleanup & repairs has been taking up too much time recently. (sigh) Things are a mess; I only started decorating for Autumn yesterday and I'm missing Halloween decorations! Luckily my broom is always safe and sound by the front door so at least I don't have to wonder where it is. (Not that it hasn't been known to scamper off now and again - naughty broom).
