Domestic Violence Awareness month.

it aggitates me that this never or rarely gets mentioned because this month is also breast cancer awareness month!

both can save lives and therefore are equally important as far as i'm concerned!

you know me from blossomswap and your comment has touched close to home.!5 days ago I once again rescued my teen daughter and her child from this situation.She was so badly beaten the officer taking the photos for court was almost sick.Not the first time unfortunately, but definately the last.She got out and we got help.Long road ahead but she is doing so well I am proud of her and slept more soundly in the last few days than in previous 2 years.People need to stop sweeping it under the carpet and talk about it.There are survival strategies for those still in this position.Get a support person and have a plan.

thank you for stopping by and sharing this with me! i've been in horribly abusive relationships in the past (from my late teens into my late 20's) and that's why i posted this here (and last year here too)! i wish you, your daughter and grand child all the best for a happy, healthy & safe life! i will tell you one thing though: things didn't get better for me until the day i realized i'd really had enough and wanted better for myself. i hope this happens for your daughter a lot sooner than it did for me! and if you ever need someone to talk to (via this blog or blossom swap) i'm here!

A Walk Through The (Dis)Enchanted Forrest (Halloween Party Post)

(Though it didn't post at 12:01am like it was supposed to). Anyhoo, I'm home and resting (uncomfortably). Surgery went well, my kidney tube and stone are gone! I have an internal stent on the left hand side but I'm okay with that because it comes out in the doctor's office in 2-3 weeks (no back to the hospital) and especially because it meant they could take that nephrostomy tube out! 2nd Annual Practical Magic Blog Party 2011 is Here! *Updated*

It's time for the 2nd Annual Practical Magic Blog Party created & hosted by the wonderful Anna of Frosted Petunias ! My sincerest apologies for getting this up rather late! The adventure that is post Hurricane Irene cleanup & repairs has been taking up too much time recently. (sigh) Things are a mess; I only started decorating for Autumn yesterday and I'm missing Halloween decorations! Luckily my broom is always safe and sound by the front door so at least I don't have to wonder where it is. (Not that it hasn't been known to scamper off now and again - naughty broom). I was afraid, quite honestly, that I wouldn't even get a post up sometime today! I kept hitting dead ends with every other one I tried. But, this morning I sat here at the computer and it flowed.
