Early Pub Day: Roll The Stone Away by Ann Hite

"Roll The Stone Away is the true story that influenced the award-winning" Black Mountain Series by beloved friend and writing confidant Ann Hite. It's out in the world Tuesday 5/12.



Ann's storytelling is pure magic! Ghost On Black Mountain and Where The Souls Go are my favorites from the Black Mountain books, though I've been known to recommend them all!



One of my favorite memories from the #ReadSavannah event hosted by She Reads With Friends in 2016 was getting to meet Ann in person & chat with her for a while, and then there was the summer we spent working our way through The Artists Way by Julia Cameron, emailing weekly. She's (Ann) creative inspiration and creative support wrapped up in a generous, beautiful soul.



I'm already deeply struck by these words from the back cover: "...they have a better understanding of what it takes to survive one's history and own it without shame." This is something I've been wrestling with since Mom died in November, maybe even longer. I'm dropping my other reads and starting this one today!

The Time Is Upon Us Once Again!

Welcome Friends! It's time once again for A Fanciful Twist Halloween Party ! Warmest thanks to the lovely Vanessa for hosting again this year. My apologies for not having this up sooner, I've been dreadfully under the weather and my helpers have been more of a hindrance! My lovely kitchen witch Helvetica has given up time off and has been cooking & baking away since last night but the skeletons have been eating everything in sight (damn their bottomless stomachs!) though they won't fess up and the invisible man has been raving on and on every time the door bell rings! 11:14pm (3/16/09) Watching a documentary Tennessee is so beautiful Head & nose all stuffy Out of ZyrtekD - sigh Want to read but distracted by my clogged head Hubby's snoring a little, restless a lot I worry about him He's so tired, works so much Doesn't get to do what he enjoys often enough (If at all) He willingly took my burdens & made them his own I'm still not used to being taken care of Makes me uncomfortable, guilty I took care of things for so many years Are 2 persons "stuff" too much for 1 person? Even a good, strong man? I know what it is to do more than my "fair share" Though the situation was completely different Is the end result the same?
