Since I literally just whipped this up yesterday afternoon, do everything to your taste ~ I have no precise measurements!

Salad:
cold mini pasta bow ties (half box)
chopped green olives
chopped cukes
diced red onions
chopped mushrooms
diced peppers (red, green, yellow, orange)
crunched up bacon (12 slices)
halved cherry tomato's
halved small mozz. cheese balls
diced roasted red peppers
a few healthy hand fulls of shredded parm. cheese

Toss well

Dressing:
garlic powder
white pepper
fresh ground pepper
parsley flakes
basil flakes
a generous helping of grated parm. cheese
a couple of cap fulls of balsamic vinegar
a few heaping cap fulls of red wine vinegar with garlic
less than a cap full of extra virgin olive oil
2 tables spoons spicy brown mustard

Wisk until well blended, then pour over the salad and mix until everything's coated. Keep in the fridge until serving time.

Hi Jo, where are you in 'coastal NJ'? I love it there...at least where we used to vacation when I was younger. My early years were spent in Wildwood at the beach 1wk out of the year. Then later, we went to Sea Isle City and I really like it there. I like this salad, it sounds refreshing for a summer day. I miss being near the ocean. I don't think we'll even get a beach vacation this year:-( Have a great day! Jan

We are having this tomorrow night! You definitely have some twists I haven't seen before which sound great.
Thanks Chicks! I hope it turns out well for ya's!

Thanks Jan! I'm over a hundred miles north on the Jersey Shore from Wildwood! For me, Sandy Hook is the best place on the Jersey Shore, followed by down in Cape May. We live minutes from Sandy Hook.

This does sound good. I might add a little bit of pepperoni because I love it in pasta salad!! Mmmmmm!!
Thanks Katie!

PEPPERONI! Mandy I am SO glad you mentioned that! My mother and I used to get the best pasta salad while I was growing up from a local deli (in Red Bank) that was amazing and we've never been able to replicate the taste and now I know why! There was pepperoni in that pasta salad.

2nd Annual Practical Magic Blog Party 2011 is Here! *Updated*

It's time for the 2nd Annual Practical Magic Blog Party created & hosted by the wonderful Anna of Frosted Petunias ! My sincerest apologies for getting this up rather late! The adventure that is post Hurricane Irene cleanup & repairs has been taking up too much time recently. (sigh) Things are a mess; I only started decorating for Autumn yesterday and I'm missing Halloween decorations! Luckily my broom is always safe and sound by the front door so at least I don't have to wonder where it is. (Not that it hasn't been known to scamper off now and again - naughty broom). I was afraid, quite honestly, that I wouldn't even get a post up sometime today! I kept hitting dead ends with every other one I tried. But, this morning I sat here at the computer and it flowed. Thankfully! I would have been so disappointed if I'd missed this, it was such fun last year! As some may remember from last years party, while I like the movie, (and love that house!), I love the...

The Time Is Upon Us Once Again!

Welcome Friends! It's time once again for A Fanciful Twist Halloween Party ! Warmest thanks to the lovely Vanessa for hosting again this year. My apologies for not having this up sooner, I've been dreadfully under the weather and my helpers have been more of a hindrance! My lovely kitchen witch Helvetica has given up time off and has been cooking & baking away since last night but the skeletons have been eating everything in sight (damn their bottomless stomachs!) though they won't fess up and the invisible man has been raving on and on every time the door bell rings! I do hope you'll enjoy your visit to Pumpkin Manor and have a Happy Halloween ! I look forward to your return. 11:14pm (3/16/09) Watching a documentary Tennessee is so beautiful Head & nose all stuffy Out of ZyrtekD - sigh Want to read but distracted by my clogged head Hubby's snoring a little, restless a lot I worry about him He's so tired, works so much Doesn't get to do what he enjoys often enough (If at all) He willingly took my burdens & made them his own I'm still not used to being taken care of Makes me uncomfortable, guilty I took care of things for so many years Are 2 persons "stuff" too much for 1 person? Even a good, strong man? I know what it is to do more than my "fair share" Though the situation was completely different Is the end result the same?
