Happy Thanksgiving Eve! Normally I would've been up at dawn to begin cooking my side dishes today (yesterday would've been pies), but having gone through Thanksgiving with mono 2 years ago, when I didn't know at the time I had mono, (exhausted doesn't begin to tell y'all) I knew better than to do that to myself this year when I know I have mono which means I'm having Thanksgiving catered this year. Such a relief! I do have to make my sweet potato casserole so that's on my agenda today. But, aside from that, I'm left with an open day and wondering about new traditions. Because it's always good to have a few in the bank when the unexpected lands! Despite gale force winds, winter temps, and snow flurries, we still have roses blooming at the start of Thanksgiving week 💖 On a side note: How is it Thanksgiving week already?! 😱 With Mom's health issues & decline taking up much of this year, and now having mono since late September, I'm completely unprepared for how late in the year it actually is. 😳 I'm left in a total state of unsettled disarray & I don't know how or where to begin to get out of it. 😑 Speaking of Thanksgiving: Since I already know what it's like to do this holiday with mono, I'm saving myself the extra exhaustion & I'm having our dinner, with all the trimmings, catered. 😋 All we have to do is pick it up Thanksgiving morning. Good morn & happy Wed! What a difference a day makes! 💛 Though #tinyyard is a leetle worse for wear after yesterday's flooding rain & gusty winds. Mom's kitchen is drying out so that's a plus.
