This Perfectly Imperfect Life

I never know how to mark this anniversary and it seems to sneak up on me more quickly with each passing year. This blog is still a joy for me, as are you my dear friends! Here's to many more years!

Back on June 26th, I wrote about my decision to change the name of Diggin' Around to The Portable Homestead (click here ) to warn y'all changes were coming to this here blog!  Well, we've now reached phase 2 of the change, the new header is in place up at the top of the blog.  Soon, the actual address for my blog will change too, which will likely require you to re-follow me.  Because I've been Diggin' Around so long, I felt it only right to give fair warning before the final change comes. One can end up with so many 'loose ends' online.  I'm also working on tying up all of mine and bringing them home here to The Portable Homestead.

Off and on throughout recent years, I have debated about whether or not to change the name of this here blog.  To something that feels more... Me. Diggin' Around was originally Just Diggin' Around.  Because I didn't know what direction anything was going in at the time.  I dropped "Just" when I realized it seemed to diminish any seriousness behind topics or intentions.  (Like I was just messing around). After nearly kicking the ole bucket in 2010, I considered changing Diggin' Around to Upheaval Into Revival, because that certainly seemed to fit me at that time, but thought "revival" might have too much of a religious tone to it (giving a different impression of why I changed the name), so I kept that as a column title/category instead. I have yet to post most of my items for my 30 Days of Creativity in September, but I'm working on it! (Click on the "30 Days of Creativity September 2009" label at the end of this post for Day 11). Here is yesterday's above, my new blog header. (Don't be fooled, this actually took a while to make and after 5 different versions, this is the one I decided I liked best). The Countdown Begins? you may be asking yourself (or not). No, I'm not already counting down to Halloween. Well, actually I am, with the widget in the right column, but that's not it! This post you are reading right now is # 990 . That's right, post # nine hundred and ninety ! I'm only 10 posts away from post # 1,000 ! I think that's incredible and calls for celebration! (Once I get there of course).

Low and behold, my bloggiversary is coming up on Saturday, Feb 28th! I nearly forgot to be honest. While this isn't my first blog, it is the blog which has lasted the longest and the one I'm enjoying the most! Thanks to everyone who's come along for the ride with me!
