A Mixed Bag

Hello everyone! A bit of catching up for today. Belated Happy Birthday to me from Hubbs, and happy Pub Day to author Karen White, whose Flight Patterns was just released this Tuesday. We picked it up on what was also our 12 year anniversary together! Then we headed to our camper to spend the rest of evening, and Wednesday, our 11th wedding anniversary, at the lake.  Of course there was book mail this week! More about Last Ride To Graceland and The Fifth Avenue Artists Society coming soon. And thanks to the weather turning from chilly 50s to summery 80s, the roses have begun to bloom! Well, it is nearly Memorial Day, so I guess it's time. (How did it get to nearly be Memorial Day already?!) I'm so far behind with my writing, and reading, since Mom's recent stroke in Marrch, and the domino affects it's had on all of our lives, but, things may be leveling out to some degree, so it's time to play catch up, and create a new normal for our family. What are you currently r...

End Of May Recap!

How is it June already?!  While scratching my head trying to figure that out, let's recap the end of May: Memorial Day weekend was a big one for us in the milestones department. (With gorgeous weather to boot!) May 24th was our decade anniversary and May 25th was our 9th wedding anniversary! Did we do anything "special" for the weekend? No and yes. We gave one other gifts, but we didn't go away for the weekend or even go out to dinner either night. Hubbs was tired from work, so aside from running out for a bit, we stayed home, relaxing on the couch, me reading and him watching war movies on TCM. Sunday we had breakfast down at the marina and walked the harbor afterwards. Then he picked up my anniversary gift (a new tv and stand) while I cleaned out the old entertainment center. We spent the rest of the day doing things around the house, making dinner together and reading on the couch. It was a wonderful weekend together, filled with love....

Happy Coincidences: An Anniversary and a Giveaway!

(***Giveaway Closed***) Happy 7th Anniversary Diggin' Around! Seven years ago today, I started this blog.  I can't believe this ended up sneaking up on me again! I remembered last week (or was it the week before) and then promptly forgot about the anniversary again due to distraction. On one hand, I can't believe it's been seven years already and on the other, it seems like so very long ago.  This blog has evolved over the years, much like I have.  I can't tell you all how much Diggin' Around has meant to me over the years and continues to mean to me.  And what you all mean to me! There are no words! Usually, my blog-aversary comes and goes without much fanfare. Not this year! This year some exciting things have been happening which coincidentally coincide with my anniversary.  (Say that ten times fast!)  This year, I am prepared to celebrate and spread my love of reading at the same time! A couple of weeks ago, I was approached by Tw...

Wordless Wednesday - Six Years Ago This Day...

Five Years Ago Today...

Truly one of the happiest days of my life. (Taken some time after the ceremony and perhaps before dinner). Vic and I married in a very simple yet beautiful ceremony with a small group of family and friends, the day after our being together 1 year. It poured like you wouldn't believe, but if you're Irish, you know that's good luck for a wedding & marriage. :-) I'm looking forward to many more lifetimes worth of anniversaries to celebrate and days of being with him. He's the most amazing man I've ever known and I love him in ways I never thought possible. I thank God for him every day.
