Wordless Wednesday - Six Years Ago This Day...

The Queen Has Arrived! (An 'In My Garden Today' Post)

I'd like to introduce you to 'Queen Elizabeth' (Grandiflora pink rose), 'Easy Does It' (Floribunda light orange rose) and Coleus 'Wizard Coral Sunrise.' I came upon these two stunning roses while strolling through a local nursery this afternoon, in the pouring rain as it turned out, and brought them home with me, using the 'birthday present for myself' excuse! (Though technically since my birthday is tomorrow, it's not an excuse - well, it's a legit one at that!) The Queen literally stopped me in my tracks. Then I saw Easy and again, my jaw dropped! Shades of pink and orange are my favorite, especially in roses. They passed my 'sniff test' - I prefer roses with more of a fruity sweet scent than the traditional floral scent - and I knew we were meant to be. Mother was annoyed that I got soaked to the bone in getting my roses - I couldn't have been happier! The coleus I picked up at the supermarket earlier this week (along with 2 ...
