30 Days of Thanksgiving Day 27

Today I am so very, Very thankful that I no longer work on Black Friday (which I did for Many Many years) and I can stay home to watch the marathon of Christmas decorating shows on HGTV all day, which has gleefully become my Black Friday tradition. (Along with munching on left overs off & on all day!) I honestly cannot begin to tell you how thankful I am to be home on this day instead of having to be up at the crack of dawn to deal with over-zealous, over-tired, over-caffeinated shoppers!

I did get the Fall stuff down and packed away for Hubby to take down to the basement. I even hung the lighted Christmas decorations in the window and gathered together all of my winter themed decorations so I can begin decorating next week. (Winter dec's go up first, then Christmas gets layered over that so after New Year's when Christmas gets packed away, I'm still dec'd out for Winter). I found another basket for my overflowing stash of yarn (the stash of skeins I put out for the season that is). I've got plans for the extra's in my stash, stay tuned!

I also finished getting the spare room ready for sis.in.law's arrival tomorrow. Finally I'm getting excited to head down to Philly! (She's flying into Philly International). We're bringing Mom along (who's never been to Philly) so while I'm excited to see Philly all decked out for Christmas, I'm wondering just how interesting of a day trip this is going to be overall!

Now as the ham reheats in the oven, I'm going to see what I feel like reading & get back to knitting the scarf I started recently. (And continue watching HGTV!)

So friends, what are some of your Black Friday traditions?

Well Jo...I layed down on the sofa this afternoon and watched HGTV! The lady who adopted the 2 little boys and the fire station; those were awesome! Did you see them?
Truthfully, I was very lazy all day! I put a lot of stuff in wish baskets on the computer so we'll see how much of it I wind up buying for presents! That was the extent of my shopping!

Hope you can keep smiling tomorrow and remember things will be okay!

I know I am thankful that I don't work on Black Friday too! I did the JC Penney's jewelry dept. one year and people are crazy! I did actually enjoy all the discounts and family got nice presents that year! Cause I bought something every day it seemed! Never was a real jewelry nut, but working there...I came to like jewelry more. I just have expensive tastes on a beer budget! :)

Which this reminds me of that new country song, God is good, beer is cold...and people are crazy! :)

I'm one of those crazies that's out on Black Friday but my family, who has a lot of experience with working retail, makes it a major point to be especially friendly to those that have to work. We aren't however, ever the lunatics that are out at 4 a.m.! I'm not fighting over any "thing."

Happy Halloween Fete 2009! Love and Spookiness to All! ~Jo (Continue scrolling down until the end of the post) Outside, it's a gloomy & cold day here on the NJ coast. Many a restless Spirit wander here on days like this. One can never be too sure if the fog & mist are just as they seem. Inside, it is warm yet equally frightful! Creepy crawlies have gotten into the food & drink, I so hope you don't mind! What with all of the party hopping we're doing, I didn't want you to bust a gut, so I've laid out some Pumpkin Cook

(Though it didn't post at 12:01am like it was supposed to). Anyhoo, I'm home and resting (uncomfortably). Surgery went well, my kidney tube and stone are gone! I have an internal stent on the left hand side but I'm okay with that because it comes out in the doctor's office in 2-3 weeks (no back to the hospital) and especially because it meant they could take that nephrostomy tube out! (The last nearly 2 weeks of that 15 weeks was rough with that thing, my body was simultaneously trying to heal aroun
