I read one of your older posts on Southern literature. I love Fannie Flagg! She's the author I would most like to imitate in my own writing. She makes me feel so "included." One of my career goals is to become a "Neighbor Dorothy" in my own town. Have you read Standing in the Rainbow? It's delightful! It's a little more midwestern than Fried Green Tomatoes.
More on the manly side, I love reading James Lee Burke's series featuring Dave Robicheaux. His books are set in Louisiana. I can smell the bougainvillea in bloom and feel the humidity in the air. I love his writing!
